Preserving Bihar's
Living Art
Manish Kumar Thakur
Since founding Thakur Arts in 2021 in New Delhi, Manish Kumar Thakur has worked closely with skilled artisans to keep the traditional Madhubani art form alive — not as a museum relic, but as a living, evolving craft finding new homes across India and the world.
Every artwork that leaves our studio is inspected personally to ensure it reflects the authenticity, detail and storytelling that define genuine Madhubani painting.
From Sketch to Studio
Every artwork passes through a careful, entirely hand-done process — nothing is printed or mass-produced.
Sketch
The composition is first sketched freehand, drawing on traditional motifs passed down through generations of Mithila artists.
Nib Pen Outline
Fine double-line outlines are drawn using a traditional nib pen, forming the signature geometric borders of Madhubani art.
Natural Colours
Pigments derived from natural sources fill each section, layered by hand for depth and texture.
Detailing & Finishing
Final detailing, quality inspection, and careful packaging prepare each piece to travel safely to your home.
